Wacky Cake
I recently made wacky cake for the first time ever! Wacky cake is a recipe my grandma used to make. I had never made it before but had heard the process described. I'd heard that it was easy and, guess what? IT IS! :) It's very possibly the easiest cake you can make from scratch! :) Here's how I made it:
Dry Ingredients
2 cups flour
1 1/3 cups sugar
4 tablespoons cocoa
1/2 t salt (mounded)
1 1/2 t baking soda
Here's something cool! So in order to make wacky cake you DO NOT spray the pan! Then you measure your dry ingredients into the pan (not a BOWL, the PAN :)). Oh, and try to use the right amount of cocoa! (I might have used 4 TEASPOONS instead of 4 TABLESPOONS. Haha. Oooops! :))
Wet Ingredients
Next I poured the water over the whole pan and stirred it all as quickly as I could with a whisk and spatula. (I didn't quite get the corners all mixed in, so I encourage spending extra time on the corners with the spatula :P).
Then I made my favorite chocolate frosting. Sometime when I'm less lazy I'll post that recipe too! ;)
The End! :)
Dry Ingredients
2 cups flour
1 1/3 cups sugar

The dry ingredients mixed together in the pan |
1 1/2 T vinegar
1 stick butter, melted
1 1/2 t vanilla
1 1/3 c water
I made three little "nests" in my dry ingredients in which to pour the vinegar, butter and vanilla.
Here's the wet ingredients |

I then baked it at 350° for 30 minutes.
